Itigilov was born in the year eighteen fifty-two. He started his education into his religion by the age of sixteen. He went and got himself admitted o the anninsky datsun which is a university in this area. Today, only the ruins remain of this place. . This person has earned a diploma in medicine and philosophy…. he even wrote an entire encyclopedia on the pharmacological subject.
By the year nineteen hundred and level, he was appointed as the twelfth Khambo lama.
This person used to be the Russian Buddhist. This post was inaugurated at the period of buryat from the Buddhist revival.

This person was a very prominent figure in the tercentenary celebrations at the house of him Romano’s. This person was also responsible for opening the datsun. This was what the first Buddhist temple to start in the entire European region, starting here at Saint Petersburg. . The ruling star of this region decided that he should get him invested in the order of the saint Stanislaus on the year nineteen hundred and seventeen.
During the time of the First World War, the lama presided over most matter that had to with the Buddhists of the region. In fact he presided over the entire society of the buryat brothers. . This was a powerful organization that was helping the Russian army with money, food, clothes and medicines. The lama setup up help for doctors and many hospitals. Because of his many charitable activities, itigilov was awarded with the order of Saint Anna.
In the year nineteen hundred and twenty six, this lama had advised Buddhist monks to leave Russia as, the red teaching was coming. However he decides to live in this same country. . At the age of seventy five, lama began meditation along with funeral rites and ceremonies for claiming. When his tie came, itigilov meditated until his last breath and he was joined by the other lamas.
Itigilov said in his testimonial that he wanted to so die and remain sitting in the lotus position. . And obviously according to the wishes of the itigilov, his body was put into a pine box and kept at bum khan. This place was special site for the burial of the lama.
Another wish he mention was that he wanted monks fro the same faith to exhume his body with certain years on a regular basis. . This ritual as is conducted now is also done to demonstrate itigilov spirituality and the incorruptibility of his body.
In the year nineteen seventy five, Buddhist monks examined itigilov body regularly. These people were quite baffled and wondered how it was possible that there are absolutely no signs of decomposition and decay.
In fact they were hesitant to give out information to the authorities of communist Russia. Hence the body of itigilov remained in situ until the year two thousand and two.
According to the sandha; Buddhist leaders of the traditional section of the Russian counterparts; the body was then transferred to ivolginsky datsun. This was apparently a residence of the current khambo lama. Here the body was examined by doctors, pathologist, and scientists. . According to them, the body was as though of someone who had dies about thirty six hours before they examined it. . The body was very well preserved without any decay of skin, tissues, muscles and soft tissue and cartilage was intact.
Apparently this body has never been embalmed, and neither has it been mummified. Even today if his corpse is punctured, it bleeds. .
According to speculations made by al jazeera network, the body was preserved for such a long time as it was immersed in salt. And there are also reports that the body has seen being removed from the salt pits.
However there is no proof about this. Even today there are monks who approach the corpse as though it was living and shake his hand. Some devotees even say the itilgov is still alive. They belive that his body has been immersed in hibernation and he will wake up one day. This state is also called the enlightened state of nirvana. Buddhists here say that only the most high in the religious order and the advanced master can get into this state and assume this condition before death. So that hey can purify themselves and their body not to decay.
Many scientists have found that the lama’s body has been found with high concentrations of bromine and this may be a major reason of how the body is still preserved.
In two thousand and three, the international Buddhist conference the itilgovs body has been declared as scared Buddhist property in Russia.

This is the perfect example of victory of soul over body.
@fred: common ya!!! this dude has written an encyclopedia on pharmacology and studied medicine…don’t you think he must have taken some kind of drug before his death..why there be unreasonably high concentration of bromide in his body..and plus he even asked his followers to exhume him after some years…i dunno about his spirituality level but this guy is a true genius…I think his body is subject of extensive research…there has to be a scientific reason to this…
