  • Get religious in Amritsar’s golden Temple
    The Harmandir sahib is located in Amritsar in Punjab. This happens to be the holiest shrine in all of Sikhism.  This was earlier known as the golden temple.  Harmandir Sahib was a name that was given to the temple in the year two thousand and five.  This place now attracts Sikhs from all parts of the world. And it has become an amazingly popular tourist destination. There are many historical sites that have been built , how ever the golden temple of Amritsar is completely alive with the preservation of its fervor and sacredness.   • The Dohany Street Synagogue, Budapest
    The Dohany street synagogue is also known as Dohany synagogue or the great synagogue. This synagogue is located in Budapest. This just happens to be the largest synagogue in all of Europe. And it is also the second largest synagogue in the whole world. The Dohany synagogue was built in the year eight hundred and fifty nine. This was originally the plan of Ludwig Forster which was not even Jewish.  The Jewish community here in this area of Budapest consisted of only about thirty thousand people.  The synagogue has seen some rich days but then days also turned out to be quite tragic. In the march of the year nineteen hundred and forty four, Adolph Eichmaan, who had just arrived in Budapest along with the many Nazi forces who occupied this place.   • Vaishno Devi – Feel close to the almighty!!!
    In religion and spirituality, a Pilgrimage is a journey to a sacred place or shrine. It is the quest and expression of one’s belief and faith.   • The Agio Nikolaos Ragavas Church and the Mitropolis Cathedral in Greece
    The Agio Nikolaos Ragavas church The Agio Nikolaos Ragavas church is located in Plaka in the neighborhood of Athens. This is an eleventh century church which is still used today. This church was built in the eleventh century by the Byzantine era.  This church was well in use although after a while it, religious services here was discontinued. In the latter half of the eighteen century the church was repaired and renovated. There was another restoration done in the nineteen hundred and seventies. This church of St. Nicholas was the first church to receive a bell in Athens which happened just after the war of independence in the year eighteen hundred and twenty one.  When the city got its liberation from the German in the year nineteen hundred and forty four, the bell on this church was the first to ring out.   • Domkirkjan and the Hallgrimur churches in Iceland
    Domkirkjan is a small and quite charming looking church which follows a Lutheran faith. This church has a lot of historical importance and is located in Reykjavik in Iceland. This has been a church site since twelve hundred AD. The current church began in the year seventeen hundred and eighty eight.  And the work was only completed I the year seventeen hundred and ninety six. The endorsement for independence of Iceland was first officially done in the Domkirkjan region by the Lutheran church. Since the year eighteen hundred and forty five, many members of the cabinet and the various ministers, they gather here for a service before the annual session.  The first time the national anthem of Iceland was sung in was in this church. The interior of the Domkirkjan has aisles that rise up from its sides and galleries on the upper regions.   [...]

  • Art and Sacred Architecture in Ravenna
    The Basilica Di San Vitale, which is located in Ravenna, dates all the way back to the sixth century. This is the place that has some of the finest mosaics in the world. The plan to have this constructed was the idea of Ecclesius who was a bishop of Ravenna. . After a little the when this bishop went to Bynazntium and met with the pope John in the year five hundred and twenty five, that was when therodoric was succeeded by amalasuntha his daughter, as the ruler of the great Goths of Ravenna. These rules were essentially Aryan, although the daughter was quite tolerant of the Catholic people, compared to her father. The construction of this place began in the year five hundred and twenty six. The site that was closed was the site where saint vitalis was martyred.  Juliuanus Argentarius was probably solely responsible for funding  [...]

  • The Anne Frank house and the Beguine Church
    The Anne Frank house which is located in Amsterdam should be visited ideally during the summer.  About eight people from three different families lived here in total silence for more than two years. This place has great regard in history, the hiding place was found by Otto Frank and he kept them safe here till almost the end of the cold war. The Nazis however, discovered them just almost before the war could get over and deported these people as prisoners to concentration camps. Anne frank was once of the prisoners who died here in the concentration camp. This was the house in which Anne Frank kept her diary so that she could deal with the boredom that she faced while she was confined to the walls of the house.
